FAQs

  • A Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) is a trained professional who specializes in supporting individuals in enhancing and maintaining their mental health and overall well-being. RCCs work with a diverse range of people, including individuals, couples, and families, offering both individual and group counselling. Clinical counselling is often sought when someone is navigating difficult emotions, thoughts, situations, or life challenges.

  • RCC’s are trained to address a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, grief, and stress management. They use evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support individuals, couples, and families in overcoming challenges and improving emotional well-being. RCCs are also qualified to work with clients dealing with more complex psychological issues, ensuring they receive the appropriate care and support.

  • While therapy itself is not currently regulated in the province of British Columbia, Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) are recognized as legitimate healthcare providers. RCCs are required to meet specific educational and professional standards, including ongoing supervision and continuing education, to maintain their registration with a regulatory body. This ensures that RCCs are qualified and competent to provide high-quality care.

  • Preparing for a consultation is about taking a moment to connect with where you are right now and what you hope to explore. There’s no need to have all the answers—just bring your honest self and any thoughts or questions you have about your journey. It can help to consider what’s been most challenging, what you’d like to change, or what support you’re seeking. Our first conversation is a space to listen, understand, and begin building a connection based on trust and openness.
